SAP Concur’s latest study analyzes the experiences of U.S. business travelers in healthcare, revealing significant insights for our global white paper.

Key Findings:

  • Flexibility Issues: 69% of healthcare business travelers view travel as vital to their career, but 90% have faced reduced flexibility, such as fewer opportunities for remote work or combining personal travel with business trips. 
  • Cost-Cutting Concerns: Many travelers feel their organizations prioritize cost savings over addressing travel disruptions. 92% have had to adjust plans due to unexpected travel issues, and 27% would avoid trips with high risks of delays or cancellations.
  • AI as a Potential Solution: While 96% of travelers are open to AI tools for booking, only 6% currently use them.
  • Pre-Approval: 66% have seen increased pre-travel approval requirements.
  • Sustainability Focus: 28% of travelers see a stronger emphasis on sustainability over flexibility or cost-saving. While many are willing to forgo trips for environmental reasons or prefer sustainable options, 33% have encountered budget constraints affecting their ability to offer sustainable travel solutions.
