Travel managers’ work was radically upended when COVID-19 emerged.
To understand the new normal of business travel, we surveyed 800 travel managers in 8 markets. Below are some key highlights.
- 96% say their companies were not fully prepared to manage travel during covid-19
- 43% were not prepared to process the volume of refunds, receipts and unused tickets.
- 38% were caught off guard needing to get travelers home within quarantine rules
Travel managers expect both near term and long term changes to how they manage travel, both on a daily basis as well in times of crisis. Changes to policy should reflect a re-commitment to Duty of Care that will entail revising policies, including increased interest in pre-trip approval as well as rethinking how to ensure visibility into employee travel, regardless of where it is booked.
