"Government Entity" is defined as any intergovernmental organization, or any federal, state, county, municipal, or local
government, and any agency, branch, department, bureau, or authority, including quasi-governmental entities, established
under such government.
Examples include the following.
- National, regional (including state or provincial, as applicable), municipal, or local government;
- Department, agency, instrumentality, political subdivision, subsidiary, branch or other entity of a national, regional
(including state or provincial, as applicable), municipal, or local government;
- Government-owned or government-controlled company or other entity (for example, a state-owned oil company, bank, or airline,
or public hospital or university);
- Subsidiary of a government-owned or government-controlled company; and
- Public international organization (for example and without limitation, the International Monetary Fund, the United Nations,
the World Bank, or the World Trade Organization).
Generally, sectors such as the following may have significant presence of Government Entities.
- Aerospace and defense,
- Manufacturing,
- Education
- Banking and finance,
- Healthcare and life sciences,
- Energy and extractive industries,
- Telecommunications and
- Transportatio
In practice, particularly internationally, ownership structure alone is insufficient to determine if an entity is a Government
Entity. Reasonable diligence should be performed prior to submission to Concur of a lead to ensure it is not a Government
Entity. Examples of such diligence include but are not limited to the following. When in doubt, please consult a professional
within your organization.
- Inquire of the management-level contact you have at the entity (e.g., the person that would be listed on the Concur electronic
