L'Oreal Groupe

Driven by a mission to create the beauty that moves the world, L'Oréal Groupe is constantly evolving, leveraging new technologies, and positioning itself as the champion of Beauty Tech.

The Group faced a need to modernize and streamline user provisioning processes between its HR system and Concur Expense as the company transitioned from SAP HR to SAP SuccessFactors.

Using an SAP Master Data Integration and SAP BTP, L’Oreal Groupe created an automated process to bring data from SuccessFactors Employee Central into Concur Expense. By having data replicated across SuccessFactors and Concur Expense, L’Oreal Groupe has been able to improve the accuracy and reliability of user provisioning, reducing errors and delays.

The process of integrating data across the HR and Expense systems previously took 48 hours and now only takes four hours.

Weatherford

With more than 19,000 employees in 75 countries, Weatherford’s decentralized Travel & Expense program was outpaced by the company’s global growth, resulting in disjointed reporting, poor integration with the company’s ERP system, and too many manual processes. Rolling out a global program with Concur Travel & Expense, the company automated processes while improving data integrity, compliance, and the user experience.

With a new global process, the number of expense reports surged from 1,300 a month to more than 4,500 per month, and the company has now issued nearly 7,300 payment cards versus less than 1,000 just three years ago.

With the help of its SAP Concur solutions, the Weatherford team easily managed the increased volume and has delivered impressive results for the business. The company has seen savings of more than $17 per expense report, has reduced T&E operation costs by 26%, and obtained a 47% increase in workforce efficiencies.

UST

UST is a global digital transformation leader with over 30,000 employees across more than 30 countries, delivering innovative IT solutions and services that empower businesses to thrive in today’s digital landscape. Before adopting Concur Travel & Expense and Concur Invoice, UST was using a home-grown travel tool and relying different applications to settle the expenses and invoices associated with travel.

With the goal of transforming their traveler experience while increasing visibility and control over travel spend, UST turned to SAP Concur to consolidate its T&E processes on a single platform.

One of the main differentiators in UST’s Concur Implementation is the formal discovery workshop they conducted to uncover real challenges in their Travel and Expense process. Through 30+ immersive sessions with over 40 stakeholders, including frequent travelers and key functions, UST identified the real problems to solve for a successful implementation upfront. With clear visibility on the right problems to solve for, the industry best practices from SAP Concur, a global configuration of the product, the company re-imagined its T&E processes. UST implemented self-booking for US travelers, adopted virtual cards for hotel bookings, moved to a light-weight approval process and shifted T&E expenses from invoices to expenses with corporate card programs.

After the roll-out 95% of domestic travel is auto-approved, 67% of overall T&E spend shifted to cards and they have seen 100% adoption for travel bookings, expenses, and cash advances through SAP Concur solutions.

Coca-Cola

Coca-Cola relied on 26 different, non-integrated systems for Travel Booking and Expense across the globe and pre-trip approvals were handled manually offline. Expense report documentation and receipts had to be scanned and emailed, resulting in inconsistent and very time-consuming processes across locations.

The company undertook and effort to digitize and unify the entire travel booking and expense reimbursement process, creating global controls and standardizing a single travel and expense policy.

With SAP Concur solutions, Coca-Cola was able to provide a global end-to-end solution that boosts productivity and seamlessly integrates with the company’s SAP ERP while access to the Concur App Center allowed collaboration with strategic partners to provide reporting and ensure a strong control and audit environment.

The global roll out increased credit card adoption to 96%, ensured 99.2% of credit card transactions are settled within 30 days and provided 100% visibility into organizational spending. Ultimately the company has saved employees 75,000 hours annually since its launch.

E.ON

With the introduction of the GDPR in 2018, data protection requirements became stricter throughout the EU. Employees in the EU have the right to know what data their employer has collected about them — down to the smallest detail.

When an employee made a data subject access request, several responsible managers would create separate reports within Concur Travel and Concur Expense. They also needed to gather receipts submitted during the requested timeframe. E.ON’s HR IT team swiftly set the goal of reinventing the data information process, making it significantly more efficient, modern, and scalable. Collaborating with SAP specialists from around the world, they conceptualized, designed, developed, and rolled out the Transparency Report.

This new solution, based on SAP BTP, automates the collection of all relevant data, including user profile data, booking information, receipts, expense reports, and reimbursement details.

Employees can now request a report by simply opening a ticket. The HR administrator is notified, and with a single click, all documents from connected systems are aggregated and packed into a ZIP file. The tool automatically verifies the validity of the request. With one more click, the file is sent directly to the requester’s inbox.

What used to take at least half a day now takes less than five minutes

MAYEKAWA MFG. CO., LTD.

As Mayekawa approached its 100th anniversary, the company undertook an effort to ensure staff were able to pursue high-value work, and not be burdened by tedious processes. The in-house expense system was difficult to automate and accounting staff from the head office to the factory floor had to spend a huge amount of time checking each submitted expense before settlement.

Inspired by SAP Concur's concept of “the expense reports that writes itself," Mayekawa wanted to realize an approval-less expense management process, abolishing manual and Excel-based work, minimize handling of cash and drive compliance with e-invoicing legislation.

Through the implementation of SAP Concur solutions, Mayekawa has achieved its goals, reducing the Finance team's annual workload by more than 12,000 hours. Tasks that previously required 100 employees nationwide can now be handled by a six-member Concur support team, and improved visibility has enhanced compliance.

American Express Global Business Travel

Amex GBT is the world’s largest reseller of Concur Travel and the company supports more than 9,000 SAP Concur Travel sites in more than 95 different countries around the globe.

In September 2024, Amex GBT became the first TMC to offer customers on the New Concur Travel platform content sourced through the Hotel Connector.

The Hotel Connector API allows Amex GBT to display the comprehensive and competitive content in its Supply MarketPlace (SMP) helping get the right content in front of the right travelers at the right time, streamlining the hotel shopping and booking process to be more like a consumer.

These organizations have found success with SAP Concur solutions and it is an honor to recognize each as a 2025 SAP Concur Innovation Award winner.
